PURSUING EXCELLENCE

The team of individuals you will work with at DL Phillips Construction have all been working in the remodeling and construction industry for over 10 years; Many over 20 years and some for nearly 30 years! Understanding that the people you work with during your project will make the experience highly enjoyable, or something you may never do again, we are constantly curating a team which aligns with our ethical values.

We are very proud of our team. Not only are each of them professionals, conducting themselves as such, they each have a unique perspective that adds value to our clients home renovation projects.

It is the breadth of experience across the team that helps us take your project from start to finish in such a way that makes you want to work with us. We help clients visualize their project and explain what they should expect and share our experiences with them, informing them about what may work best for their situation. We draw on our collective experience that we reflect on to help us provide tips and expertise of how other clients have successfully dealt with similar remodeling challenges.

DL Phillips Construction proudly and frequently serves the Thurston County (Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater) area as well as Lewis, Mason and Grays Harbor Counties.

Garrett Hempstead, General Contractor, Builder, Remodeler, Remodeling Contractor

Garrett Hempstead, Co-Owner, adopted the general operations of DL Phillips Construction in January 2025, succeeding long-time local contractor, David Phillips.

Prior to working alongside David as an Estimator and Project Manager, Garrett accrued roughly 15 years of experience in the field; Experience for which he credits his ability to provide the most realistic estimates and efficient project schedules.

In his free time, you'll find Garrett exploring trails with his dogs or wondering why he has free time!

Mariah McBride, DLPhillips Co-Owner

Mariah McBride, Co-Owner, joined Garrett and David Phillips just months prior to the business transition and wears the many "hats" of the back office including bookkeeping, HR, job costing/analysis, safety and process development. Previous to contracting, she honed her skills working in the field of metal recycling - an experience for which she attributes her ability to think outside of the box and expect the unexpected!

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with both her human and fur family.
